I’d still like to see a front 2

Hardly surprising considering your user name. 8-)

If we don’t beat Spurs we are well and truly in a tail spin. Loss of confidence is hard to turn around.

Not only are we not scoring, we rarely look dangerous. There was a 10 minute spell yesterday when it was looking promising and then we just stopped and went into our shell. Is that instruction from the bench? Because if it is, it is VERY concerning.

No, we’re just in a similar vein of form to this time last year. Spurs were always going to kick into gear once De Zerbi had enough time with his players. Anything out of next week is a plus.
I do think a certain element of our fanbase has got overly carried away with their expectations (or is it a misguided sense of entitlement?) this season. Too many hours playing Football Manager & FIFA.

I know right, but we’re struggling to get any sort of quality service to DCL so give him someone to feed or feed off alongside him.

And there we have it in a nutshell
DeZerbi will have a positive effect. Farke however seems totally void of ideas. We are going one way and one way only, we need to do something

De Zerbi also has a wealth of attacking talent at him disposal. Kudus, Marmoush, Tel, Kulesevski, Solanke, Maddison & Simons (when fit). Most of that start for us. We’re still at a disadvantage in this division. We just have to stay competitive again this year.

DCL is isolated because the manager has put the brakes on the full backs overlapping and getting balls in. That is our entire attacking remit if Okafor isn’t on it.
Yesterday both fullbacks did exactly that for about 10-15mins and we looked dangerous. Then after the disallowed goal, fuck knows why, but it never happened again all game.

I don’t think the fanbase had unrealistic expectations. We should have gone into this season on the up on the back of a good second half to last season. We haven’t though. Farke is increasingly reverting to type and any attacking intent is slowly being strangled out of the team.
I firmly believe that this squad is capable of so much more than we are seeing right now and that is down to the overly cautious approach of the manager.
